Title | Forest Inventory, Itasca County, Minnesota
Abstract | This layer is a digital inventory of individual forest stands on Itasca County tax-forfeited land. The data is collected by Itasca County Foresters and is updated on a continuous basis, as needed.
Purpose | To provide comprehensive information about the state and dynamics of the forests for strategic and management harvest planning.
Time Period of Content Date | 01/07/2025
Currentness Reference | Time Period of Content date indicates the date which the user can be confident of accuracy and completeness of the dataset.

Section 2 | Data Quality | |||
Attribute Accuracy | Attribute domains are used on fields were possible to ensure data integrity. Data entry mistakes are corrected as found.
Logical Consistency | Test queries are performed to ensure correct values are entered. Topology rules are applied to find and correct polygon spatial errors.
Completeness | As new lands are acquired, Forest Inventory is completed as time is available.
Horizontal Positional Accuracy | Land boundary lines are snapped to the parcel layer which is plus or minus 3 feet at section corners and quarter corners. Covertype boundaries are digitized on screen over a 1 - 3 foot accuracy aerial imagery and will inherit the horizontal positional accuracy of the imagery.
Vertical Positional Accuracy | Not Applicable
Lineage | Original data was field collected and is updated on a continuous basis.
